Darkroom London “curate[s] an eclectic mix of high-end fashion, interior and lifestyle accessories alongside bi-monthly art and sculpture exhibitions.” Like the physical store, the online store is superbly executed and high quality.
CartThrob was used on the Regional Food Group website, which was already running EE + MultipleSiteManager and a multitude of extensions. The biggest hurdle was the multiple product types: events, paid membership and physical products all available through the checkout process, each with different forms, pricing, taxation, weights and permissions. Liam Crean of Embloc said of the process “We were really thankful that CartThrob creates custom fields on the fly - adding masses of fields by hand on the large membership forms we had to handle would have been soul destroying.”
What do you do with an MBA and a desire to avoid working for the man? Build a business on the internet, of course. If there’s a niche you can find that hasn’t been filled before, that’s a pretty good place to start too and we think Vegetarian Wellness is poised to explode. Vegetarian Wellness isn’t the first CartThrob based website, but it’s one of the best. Customer ordering history and an affiliate system are just a few of the fine features made possible with CartThrob and ExpressionEngine.
Amano is known for calculating and time recording business machines. This clean and elegant website created by Earl & Thompson Marketing effectively shows how well CartThrob can be integrated into the look of any website. You’ll notice from page to page that there is no obvious “CartThrob signature.” Everything just flows together nicely and fits the look of the entire site. Developer Pete Eveleigh shared the following with us: “implementation was far less painful than ANY other ecommerce tool I’ve used in the past.”
TheVilePlutocrat.com is a 16toads Design internal project that grew out of populist anger over the stench of the Madoff Ponzi scheme and the ensuing media tsunami exposing the unabashed greed of corporate America and corruption at every level of our government during the waining months of 2008, just prior to the bottom falling out of the U.S. economy.
MemoryBox Calendars was originally built using CodeIgniter, an excellent product. As more and more content management was required ExpressionEngine and CartThrob became a natural choice. The shipping system is somewhat unique, with multiple shipping addresses and direct integration with Endicia postage system. Also, in this system, the products are created by the customers themselves.
Ripp’s Natural Market is a clean and elegant website that promotes products that are naturally good for people and the environment. Many sites that use CartThrob are built to handle very custom or unique stores with very unique product types & transaction styles. This site however proves that even sites that require the standard set of cart functions can be done superbly with CartThrob.
Skyrta is one of the most impressive CartThrob sites done to date. Partially because it’s got hundreds of selectable options, and partially because it’s in freaking Japanese. I took a few years of Japanese language classes and I still can’t read it one bit, but CartThrob can be used with it. What really makes this impressive though, is the fact that you can build a completely custom tailored shirt in moments, all using CartThrob
Kitchener Cookware sells a variety of unique kitchen utensils and supplies. This well designed site created by Fantastic Machine features wedding lists, events and a cooks club. CartThrob is used to power the shopping cart and checkout.
