Problem adding to cart

Hey guys,

I’m having an issue with the auto-install templates. I’ve installed all of the channels and assigned the fields in the module. I’ve added a few test products, but when I try to add them to my cart on the front-end, nothing happens. It just refreshes the page.

This is happening on all of the templates. The add_to_cart_form looks correct, but I can’t figure out what’s going on.

- Ashley

(This is a previous forum post that I copied because I am having the same problem, but the post was already closed.)

What version of CartThrob are you using?

At some point there was a sessions issue (which was fixed) when one of a few other products was installed (Brilliant Retail was one).

We’ve had about 70 revisions since then. I’d suggest an upgrade.

Upgrade process:

1. overwrite existing cartthrob files with new ones.

2. In EE > addons > modules > run module updates

Then try again.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I have upgraded to the most reason and for some reason it still isnt placing an item in my cart. I am a beginner at cartthrob and just trying to set up a basic e commerce solution, it could be anything at this point. The fact that the included templates dont work makes me think that it could be the way my channels are set up? Not sure what to try next.

Thanks.

I imagine that it’s a bug more than anything.

Post a link to your store… I’ll see if it’s anything obvious

This is the link to the multi page checkout - I only have a price entered on one of the products (Kansas City NY Steak.)

Looking at it, there does seem to be something amiss.

If you’d like, send me login details and I’ll see what I can see.

You

a. had your system path set to http://yoursite.com

b. have htaccess set up to redirect traffic for http://yoursite.com to http://www.yoursite.com

So…every time something was being added to the cart… the system was trying to add it to yoursite.com’s session, rather than http://www.yoursite.com’s session.

I changed the system’s configuration to http://www.yoursite.com to match your .htaccess setup. Now adding to cart works.
